Jon + Mary | Wedding Photography

Hey everyone,

So the week prior to Jon and Mary’s wedding I was constantly checking the weather because there was a chance of rain and we really wanted to do their portraits outside. I noticed the night before, the chance of it raining while we were shooting their pictures was pretty slim; so I was quite relieved! Well, I am sure you can guess what happened- it rained haha. We ended up taking all of the pictures at Bethlehem Lutheran, which actually worked out pretty well. Everyone stayed dry and comfortable and we got some neat pictures in the process.

The ceremony was sweet and heartfelt with the quartet, violinist, and pianist really adding to the ambiance. Instead of doing the traditional unity candle, Jon and Mary decided to do communion. I thought that was a really nice way to incorporate everyone who attended in to the ceremony.

The reception took place in the Crystal Ballroom at the Ward Plaza. That was the first time I had ever been there and the venue itself is gorgeous with the detailed wood work and vintage feel; I am kind of a sucker for that stuff! All of the beautiful decorations added even more glam to the space.

During their thank you for coming speech, Mary also told us how John proposed- he said, “Well, we can’t get divorced if we don’t get married first”. My mom and I got a kick out of that because that’s something by boyfriend, Tyler, would say too.

Jon & Mary- thanks for hosting such a lovely wedding and taking your wonderful niece’s recommendation to hire Maycee Vinae Photography. Wishing you all the best!
